Hey Russ,

Here are some measurements for the Flyer Water Tower:

Base:  5 7/8" in diameter.  1/2 " tall

Concrete piers are 1 5/16 "tall.  0.95" in diameter on bottom, .75" in diameter on top.

Support girders are 4 1/4" tall to bottom of tank.

Tank:  4 1/4" tall.  5 7/8 " in diameter

Spout 3 1/4" long from tank

Ladder:  8 3/8" long.  3/4" wide.

I will post each accessory separately or I can put them all on one if you would like.

Thanks a ton for your work!

Russell

Russell, how about a PM to me with the AF part number and then the basic dimensions, need left to right, front to back, and then the height.  Don't need all of the detailed stuff.  These are mostly place holders to show how they would look on your layout.  As I get each structure done, I'll post it back to here, a pix and a Scarm.  Russ

Thanks for all your efforts on a great program.

Measurements, and part numbers from a catalog/verifiable documents. I think he might want a catalog to be complete also.

Uh-Oh,  That will be a problem.  I cannot find any Marx catalogs with track and even accessories.  I have a couple of things, but I don't think I'll find what is needed.

Russ,

I can't see anywhere that allows PM's.  What am I missing?

Thx,

Thx,

Personal messages are part of the premium OGRF package, as well as some other premium only goodies.

know of a way to use absolute dim. when using figures? Not directly like in a dialog box.  But as you are drawing the figure on the bottom left hand corner it will show you what the dimensions are for the object you are drawing.  It is accurate to the accuracy of your mouse or pointing device.  I can usually get it within a 100th or so and for purposes of designing a layout that is usually'good enough'.  Russ

I am new to using SCARM so this may have been answered before.  I would like to use some of the SCARM files in this thread.  How do you import them to my PC?  Everything I have tried opens the "code" of the file.

If this is answered somewhere else, please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

You have to get your browser to download the link, not open it.  In Chrome, for me, you right click on the link and "save target as."  I think holding the control button and clicking might help in other browsers.  The trick is you have to DOWNLOAD it, not OPEN it.  That might help if you need to google the answer for your particular browser.

John D. - Thanks for the help. In Firefox, it is "right click" on the SCARM file in this thread and then "Save Link As".   After saving the file, I can now open them.

Are all of the SCARM files in this and other threads saved in a central "library" somewhere?  I am interested in Lionel Post War accessories at this time and would like to find more  of those.

Thanks

Dennis

Hi Carl, How does one go about making a saving a library in scarm with all the buildings in the link you provided?

I created a folder named SCARM Structures. I save anything there. Name whatever you like to identify it. if you want to get something off a layout file, first open the layout. next open a second instance of SCARM. Then select the item in the layout and copy. Go to the second instance of SCARM and paste. Now, name that file save it to SCARM Structures.

Do the reverse to add a structure to a layout plan. Capiche?

Sorry, Mike, I may have misunderstood your question. The end user cannot create a library in the software in the libraries panel. One needs to store the structures and such outside of the software.

I like the tools and features that Mixy is working on rather than have him spend time on object development. I am ok storing stuff locally.

WOW!  There are so many good ideas here.  Would you guys be willing to upload them to my library website: www.SCARMHiRailers.com ?  Since this forum is but one spot where us O-Gauge/Scale modellers hang out, Dad and I started this website so that everyone could upload and download freely.

I'm still working on the track plan uploads.  If you want to upload an entire track plan, email me and I'll do it manually.

Due to copyright license and whatnot, I don't want to just download all of your stuff and upload it myself.  I'd much rather have your permission.

Thanks!

I have tried registering, but get a "forbidden" message when I hit the submit key....

Seems I forgot that Dad moved the site to a new server.  We need to enable the script permissions.  We've both been super busy and forgot.  We both need to be available for testing, etc since we have to do this live.  I think we have time this weekend scheduled to fix this (also for me to learn more about how to do this on my own!).

So here's an update on SCARMHiRailers.com:

We moved to a more secure server that has twice the encryption (128 vs 64 bit).  Dad spent Friday and Saturday getting all of the scripts he wrote working and we tested them out.  So the site is working again...but there's a minor catch.  Passwords are server encrypted.  Moving the password file over to the new server doesn't work.  The password file itself is encrypted and I can't even read my own password out of it.  The solution is that you'll have to re-register.  I'm in the process of emailing all previous users to inform them as well.  Sorry about the inconvenience.  If you have any issues, please email me privately or follow the contact us link on the site.

We're also hoping to add a few new features to the site someday.  We have a long list of ideas and a short list of free time (ain't it always the case?!)

John (and his Dad, Joe).
