I have an SD-40 engine (6-18203) with a Pullmor motor. Does anyone know the part number for the armature in the Pullmor motor.

As information, the correct model designation is SD40, as EMD did NOT use any dash between the the model name and the number series.

That explains why all the younger (20-30yr old) people where I worked were so confused when I would mention my SD-40 model engine. Unfortunately no one ever corrected me on it.

I am in the 'older' person range with a large collection of F3's. This is my first SD-40 engine which was given to me. One motor didn't work because the worm gear on the armature was badly worm and slipping. Now, the Lionel box list the engine as " CP Rail SD-40 Diesel....". Because Lionel listed the engine as SD-40, I used the same term.
