Want to include an El train on layout but see that MTH's elevated subway supports are not the way to go for a prototypical urban setting. If you have suggestions and ideas on creating an over the street track system found in urban areas like Philadelphia which have vehicles running on streets below the "el" track and between the track supports, please post them here.

Is their anything commercially available? If not, template of you supports and "El" track roadway and supports would be most welcome.

Thanks!

I looked at three: the one from NJHRs, Imagine That Laser Art and Bridgeboss. This is purely my opinion here:  (1) NJHR is the least realistic of the three (it actually looks very good with lots of detail but in the I beam column hollows of the samples I have you can the seams of the layers that are glued together). It is very nicely made, probably the least time intensive to assemble and affordable. The Bridgeboss is the middle - a very good representation, well made, very adaptable, not too time intensive to assemble and reasonably priced.  The ImagineThatLaserArt is by far the most realistic and amazing in detail.  But it's price is even more amazing.  And I think assembling it would be time intensive.  I'm going with Bridgeboss.   Peter

Let me say this about Silk City:  I have purchased some of their products and it is really nice stuff.  Being a Pennsy guy,I find it very realistic and appropriate for what I want to have on my layout.  There is no need for any changes to the product because it is made to specs.  Everything is made to order. I have a good bit of Miami Bridges product and was really happy to get Silk City made by John and his guys.

Harry Heike made me a cast trestle set and it is nice also.

I don't do photos, but I'd set you an Iphone photo if you'd like one in this case.
