Is there any way to determine if the SER2 is working?  Here is my situation.  I have a SER2 that feeds an ASC2 via a PDI cable and also feeds qty 2 TPC's, qty 18 ASC's (a mixture of Lionel ASC's and ASC3000) and qty 7 BPC's through the "DAT" output.  I can make the switches move that are connected to the ASC2.  Using LCS software I can see all commands going out from the Legacy Base.  But it appears that the commands are not being transmitted out of the "DAT" Terminal of the SER2, PDI outputs seem to work.  I have a second SER2 but have not swapped the current SER2 out yet.  I will tomorrow and was just looking for some insights prior to doing the swap.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts,

Well, I inserted the second SER2 I had on hand and saw the same results.  Thinking it was not the SER2, I started to methodically cutting the remaining boxes that were attached to the DAT terminal of the SER2.  Suddenly Half started working and the other half still did not function.  A major break through.  Again removing half the boxes that were not working, I finally narrowed it down and looking at the leads going into the DAT terminals of an ASC, I saw that I had swapped the DAT and COM leads to the box.  Correcting this wiring Faux Pas, I began adding all the boxes back into the circuit one at a time.  Everything went according to Hoyle.  As a final correction I put the original SER2 back in to the Circuit and again everything worked as advertised.  I can now start connecting my Switches and Power Blocks for my Expansion back to the control boxes.

I hope my experience will help you out if you ever run into a similar experience. Bottom line, methodically remove items until things begin to work and then start looking at the items removed for errors.
