Well today was my lucky day. Went to watch trains with my grandson and an Union Pacific mixed freight train came through as usual. And about 20 cars down we saw a weathered Lionel postwar 6464 BAR State Of Maine boxcar that even had graffiti on it. It might have been the operating version, but we couldn't tell cause the door was closed.
We raced down the highway and got a couple of pics as the sun was going down.
I would liked to have seen the solid red door version as well, but maybe next time.
I know Mike sees them all the time. but this was our first.

Some of these I have to look close to make sure they're not real. Some really good stuff in these pics.

@aussteve posted:Coming back from California, and not being a die hard train enthusiast, I was shocked to see these engines pulling a train. I raced the car ahead of the train, ran across the highway and shot these two pics before the train went out into the desert. I had always liked the blue/yellow SF engines. Now what was this new SF engine? Too bad neither RR name survived. Right Mike?
SP had some like that but with the "SP" aft of the "SF". A very few were painted with "SPSF". A friend said that it really stood for "Shouldn't Paint So Fast"!

Upper antelope canyon in March of 2003 shot with a 4x5 field camera and 90mm wide angle lens at F32 for 1 minute using Fuji Velvia 50 ISO film.
Do you mean train photos? To be honest, I always find best to be subjective for myself at best.
Here are few offerings that may or may not be my best. Railroad Museum of PA summer of 2008.
Finally, a few from my recent trip on the Rocky Mountaineer in May. First photo is day one getting close to Kamloops.
Accidents happen.
Working best I could in an overcast sky in the Canadian Rockies.
