No help on a ski lift, but you could do a cross country ski scene. Have the skiers climbing the mountain as well as skiing down.
Department 56 made this gondola ski lift. I believe they also make a small ski slope and other snow scene pieces. This could be incorporated into a nice winter snow scene.
Installed this on a layout last year. Its not quite o-scale but on the mountain and forced perspective it looks great and operates. Its somewhere betweek HO and O. All the skiers are o-scale.

The ski lift, skiers and the snow tractor were all from Jaegerndorfer usa. This on a friends layout and he told me he has the HO version, Sorry no o-scale
This is the Dept. 56 ski slope that Joe mentioned, which I have on my Christmas layout. The rope tow brings back memories - the small ski area in northwest Wisconsin where I grew up had a rope tow on the slope where I learned to ski when I was in grade school. Relatively simple but fun accessory. Also have some cross-country skiers on another accessory (also Dept. 56).
