Does MTH use a distributor that would allow a small train shop to participate in MTH special runs since that’s all they offer anymore. Seems like the small shop is cut off from stocking and selling small quantities of the MTH engines.

There’s no distributor network for MTH Rod, …..so even a small shop could do a custom run, ….you’re dealing directly with MTH ….

Would the small shop have to buy the minimum quantity run per MTH?
I know of at least one instance where 3 small shops got together and had MTH do a special run. Yes, a special run must be a minimum number of pieces regardless of who has it done.
I believe that the NJ-HR club has had special runs done in the past. I'm not sure if they did them with MTH, but I'm sure if they met the minimum quantity that MTH would be glad to run them. Note that I'm pretty sure that custom runs are paid in advance for obvious reasons.
