Smoke and Chuff upgrade for Lionel 2-8-0, Superchuffer??

It's possible that it would all fit, but this is one of the units that I have to see inside to determine what will fit.  Pretty sure a smoke unit can be installed, it might be the LC+ steam unit, which does pretty good smoke, but something.  The wild card is if there's enough room somewhere around the motor and flywheel to install the Chuff-Generator for the four-chuffs, as well as space for the Super-Chuffer II.  The good thing is the Super-Chuffer II is smaller than the original, so there's more chance it will fit.

I have put all of this stuff in a semi-scale TMCC K-Line Berkshire, that should be a similar sized unit.

This is the Lionel unit I used in mine but believe its NLA. John may know of an MTH unit that is close.

I did this when super chuffers were just a gleam in GRJ's eye. I replaced the driver board with a TAS EOB drop in to get the 4 chuffs.

Pete, that looks like the Atlantic smoke unit, still have one left in the ol' smoke unit box.

Not having a nice machine shop to make those fancy brackets, mine are mounted a bit less elegantly.

I finally found it. It was used in an early modular Legacy 4-6-0 and, as I thought, its listed NLA. Likely that same one as the Atlantic, Lionel's first Legacy steam engine.

Too bad its NLA as it may be one of the smallest units out there.

Actually, the LC+ smoke unit is pretty compact, and it works quite well for upgrades. 

Also, the MTH full size steam smoke unit is pretty compact, that's my "go to" unit if it fits.  The MTH unit also has more convenient mounting provisions for plain bending aluminum mounts.

A similar one was used in the conventional version of the scale USRA 0-8-0. Same unit with the circuit board mounted opposite the one above. Also NLA.
