Hey all, i wanted to see if possible to install a smoke unit in a ps3. Genesis. The board does not appear to be socketed. For one. No ports. It seems there is no way to install it. Any suggestions on this? Is there a harness you can get to accomplish this? Thanks all!

I'm assuming RK as the Premier has smoke. The question is, will the smoke unit physically fit? I suspect you could use the Premier sound file if the RK file didn't support it. Of course, you will have to provide the wiring...
Chris, You need to get PS-3 wires with terminals and they go in the appropriate slots of the 40 pin connector. As John stated where to fit the smoke unit would be the main issue. I imagine the PS-3 board is in the center of the chassis. Smoke function should be available with sound file. I have not run across a sound file that did not have smoke turned on, even for units with no smoke. G
Its an RK version. I am not sure if its possible to fit it above the board and I don't have any smoke units in diesel version to test it. too bad there is not a slim version of a smoke unit for this type of retrofit!
I dont know that it is even good idea at all to install a smoke unit over the PS3 board. You are guaranteed to leak smoke fluid all over the board which may or may not damage the board
There are slim smoke units, and you can also pipe the smoke from a couple inches away without too much trouble. As far as getting smoke fluid on the board set, cover it with plastic.
The one on the top would work, however you'll need the chain file that handles the single resistor smoke unit, it doesn't dump the same amount of power into the resistor. I've never tried this, I use this smoke unit in TMCC upgrades for small steamers. The smoke unit on the bottom is an HO smoke unit.
