HELP, I started my Kline 466T tank engine #1295. it made a fast chuf or clunking sound then a POP sound and smoke pored out of the engine. I am looking for recommendations on who I can contact to see if they Have the board and can do a repair of the engine. the engine ran fine the night before and did not jump the track. I have posted pictures of what looks to me (not an electronics guy) like smoke and melting damage to the top center board.

Stu, the board is a motor driver board for K-Line Cruise. Unlikely you will find another board. You can replace it with an ERR Cruise M which does not depend on the timing wheel on the motor. It will also improve the performance. Boxcar Bill can help you out here.

Even if you find the proper K-Line board, I'd still go with the ERR board, it's a current product that is still supported.
I agree with the performance gain with the ERR Cruise. Even though the K-Line version isn't bad. But the earlier cruise boards seemed to perform better as far as smoothness than the later ones. This engine was K-Lines final steamer. Nice engine that features selectable chuff. Much like TA's EOB. There is no chuff switch. If you go with the ERR board you will also need a reed switch and magnets.
Good point, my K-Line tank engine did need a chuff switch with the ERR board, I had forgotten all about that.
My k4 blew it s board too. For no reason.
I have the board and can do the repair. E-mail in profile. G
I would like to thank GGG for fixing the engine. He did use the ERR board and other parts to get it to work with my engine. You can see a video of the engine on my layout made before the melt down.

Glad you were able to get it fixed.
These are the posts I love seeing after hearing all the "what are you going to do when your electronics fail?" posts. I worry more about the mechanical components like my NYC Niagara nylon gears than the electronic components. Thanks for posting your successful results and keep up the great modeling.
