Snow day! Staying indoors or going outside?

Well I stayed up late and filled the house with train smoke. Got up and shoveled the driveway, then ran the trains smokeless for a while. Good times.....

I no longer use the words "snow" and "frolic" (or "happy" or 'fun" either) in the same sentence anymore.

But, it's good to see that you can still enjoy the great Northeast. Myself, I think I'll go check on the Arizona weather for today and dream.

But, first, I will share an appropriate layout photo as you requested.

Thanks for your reply! You can see my dilemma! On this lazy Saturday afternoon, I am torn with what to do! However, I am grateful to have the choice!

Go explore the city. Take whatever you guys in NY have for transit, along with a camera; and do some exploring... to places you have never been to before. Find a cool place to share a meal or have drink, when you need to warm up. Have a day or evening of adventure!

Hey Don..just curious. Does anyone go ice fishing over there? I have been tempted to move but my tip ups, jigging rods, ice auger and I are inseperable! Don, exactly the same here too, some thunder storms yesterday, but clear and about 80 here too, and no surf. And no, can't see you waving, but my eyes aren't very good in this bright hot sun.

Don, looks like the rocks adjacent to the Sheraton Maui. I've been known to snorkel those rocks over the years. Sheraton has a great poolside bar also. Makes me homesick.

Don, apparently you don't subscribe to the Mel Brooks' theory that "life stinks!"

It always snows on the weekend here in DC. It must be a federal law that it is not allowed to snow on work days. It does not matter to me anyway they have an electronic leash on me on duty 24/7/365. It could be a 50' drift in the front of the house and they still can get me. Today I got my #1 track hot on the ceiling right of way, it still needs #2 track work may do some of it tomorrow.

Will be running trains before the NFL kicks in around 3PM. This week in the Tampa Bay area the temp's will be in the high 70's. Today 79. But running trains in any weather is a good thing.

I did not take pictures, but spent time outside clearing the steps and driveway, and making sure the postman does not miss out the pathway to the house mailbox!

I did not do any railfanning but some folks (Bob Vogel) did catch some train pics.

I went out in the snow and made some train money!
I got a free snow blower at the end of summer "trash day find"
new gas a plug and she runs great!

I am still old school, Cash is king! when I was younger we would bust hump and make as much money as we could shoveling snow.

I did not see any young kids out shoveling snow.
I guess they were sleeping late or playing video games.

I did notice a lot of women shoveling walks and drive ways.
That is sad!

Can't wait until the next snow storm!

Who is it here that keeps saying "Trains are a winter sport?" Well, that's it for me. Beats the snow every time.
