At the annual SP&S swap meet in Portland yesterday I picked up a new-in-the-blisterpack crossing warning set. Nice to still find these ROW items around for $20.

great find! i paid 27$ each + shipping for the 2 I got off of Ebay. They work quite well-- uses the ubiquitous 555 chip to create the flashing. Almost same height as the MTH unit-- bit shorter due to the external flasher board.

That must have been great. I grew up in Astoria, OR and watched the SP&S trains go up and down the canneries on the docks every day. What a treat. It was my first indoctrination into the love of trains. I would LOVE to go to a meet like that.
