Some time ago I picked up a 33 body on Ebay and started repainting it into a New Haven paint scheme. I was going to transplant this onto my original 33 but decided I’d rather be able to double head 33’s so I started searching for a decent used one on Ebay. I finally got one in November. I just got around to doing a few small repairs ( brushes and pickup shoe) and finishing the body shell. I think it came out pretty good although I’m still trying to decide if I like the white pilots or if they should be orange or black. It’s really cool to see a double headed freight with two 33’s pulling it but now I need a special caboose to go with it. I guess it’s time to cut up a 117 and make a no cupola NH caboose like I did for the B&M.

Pictures below, let me know what you think about the white pilots.

You do really nice work, I always enjoy your posts and the work you do painting and restoring these trains. I kind of like the white pilots, a different color for a change. Some of the great colors used are what I like about best about tinplate. If you decide to change the colors I think black might be too much, along with the engine body, so maybe the orange would be a better mix of colors? Or maybe leave it as is for a month or two and see what you think after that?
