Looking to purchase new standard gauge track. My Lionel 385E needs new rails, but can't seem to find new standard gauge track.

MTH makes standard gauge track
I'm assuming you want tubular like the old Lionel or earlier MTH. USA makes that type. As stated above MTH also has some tinplate but has been moving to a roadbed type similar to fastrack and realtrax.
Marty, MTH has both available. My local train store stocks the tubular from MTH. I have been thinking of changing over to the roadbed style for my Christmas standard gauge layout. I currently have both a 72 inch and a 42 inch oval one inside the other around my tree.
USA is superior to the current MTH Asian-produced tinplate track and it is made in the USA by one of our own OGR Forum members!
Yes Carl, I'm aware of both styles, but didn't think of that when I replied, Vegas never stated which style he is looking for. For the old tinplate type, I prefer the USA Brand. For O gauge, I use both Fastrak and tubular. For my standard I use the USA Brand only. (that's for new purchases, most of my Standard gauge track, currently in use, is MTH.
Merry Christmas!
The older MTH tubular track with the BLUED ties (NOT painted black!) are good quality, and I have quite a bit of it.
Al,
Welcome to the forum. They're just having a friendly dispute. Just think, it's all over track. Can you believe it? My advice would be as follows. Buy the track that fits your budget and your needs. If this will be a temporary loop, buy your track locally. Get to know your local hobby shop. You can make adjustments to your plans after doing your homework.
Another suggestion would be to hangout on the,"Tinplate Forum" for a while. Your engine is classified as Std Gauge tinplate. The original toy trains that started it all. You will find that we're a friendly bunch eager to answer your questions. No question is a foolish question, do not be afraid to ask.
God's Blessings,
"Pappy"
