Strange B unit activity

I don't know but maybe it is the antenna that came loose and banging around. Might want to wait and check it as to not short anything out while running it.  Don't know how that one is attached but could be a easy fix.

Probably an O scale crewman loose inside the unit futzing around with the controls. Shaking it just ticks him off. Bring it over to the house tomorrow and we can open it up and get him out.

Don’t think there is an antenna on MTH.  I believe signal goes through rails unlike Legacy which uses radio, thus antenna.

Steve, good luck opening the unit.  Put scrubs on prior, or stay in Holiday Inn Express the night before surgery.  Good luck, see you at breakfast next October after you figure out the dates.

Seriously, my bet is the loose item is a wire nut. The intermittent operation issue probably due to a bad connection. We'll see in a few minutes.

A port hole had fallen out. A couple of dabs of super glue gel and its back where it belongs.

Best guess is the plastic port hole was getting hung in the optical encoder. Fall out, everything is good. Everything else looked 100% proper. Very well done and tidy inside the unit.
