I purchased a 6-10920 Railsounds tender for my 1941 Lionel engine. However, the tender hits the cab on the engine on curves, so I can't use it. I am interested in buying a used engine that will work with my tender. Any suggestions as to what number engine would work would be appreciated. Perhaps something not build by Lionel when owned by General Mills. Recommendations?

Look into getting a longer drawbar for the loco. Not a big deal .
I use any of the K-4 types and the 2037's kind and just about any post war steamer. You should be able to add about and 1.5 inch brass piece to extend the drawbar and attach it with a nut and screw, then paint it black, a 4:40 by !/4 inch screw should work, just drill a hole in the slot of your drawbar, a nice little 20" project..
