This was featured on our local Time Warner Cable 24 hour news station last night and will air everday for a week as a part of "Your Hometown" series. They were a little premature in filming this, as it isn't completed yet. We still need to put in the foundation for the station, sidewalks, detail the retaining wall, and install the platform canopies. The station modules are 25' long. Actual scale length of the yard would be closer to 50' long. The station itself is totally scratch built using photo-enhanced images and foam-core board. Hope you enjoy it.

CNY National Railway display
DEWITT, N.Y. -- And if you can't get enough trains, the CNY National Railway Historical Society has a special tribute to the old Syracuse train station now on display at their store in Shoppingtown Mall. The model station is a to-scale replica of what the Erie Boulevard building would have looked like back in the Golden Era. It took Jeff Paston and Tom Edwards about a year to build, and went on display this past month. Members of the Model Railroad Group said it really completes their display.
Philip Edwards, Coordinator of Model Railroad Group of CNY Chapter of National Railway Society said, “Our layout for several years had a great freight yard however our passenger trains never had a place to stop, so we decided to build a scale model or as close to scale as we possibly could of the Erie Boulevard Station because it’s from the time period that we enjoy modeling."
If you want to check out the model, it'll be on display for a few more months at the Railway store. After that, it'll be moved to the fairgrounds for the Great New York State Fair.
