Is anyone going to the T-1Trust dinner and open house in Altoona this Friday and Saturday? The Saturday open house is at the Blair County Convention Center and they will have the frame there to see. It is 64' and 70,000lbs.

The PRRT&HS Annual Meeting is this week as well at the same location, in conjunction with the T-1 affair.
George
I will be attending the conference on Friday before the dinner. Unfortunately I have other plans on Saturday.
I hope they can drum up some support. I had donated a year or 2 back as this is my favorite engine, and I would love to see one, albeit a replica, run again.
Me too!
For interested parties here is a link to the trust's website.

While I'd love to see this running, even a replica, I have grave doubts it'll run in my lifetime.
The Trust says operational in 2030. Maybe if I give up wine, women, and song, or maybe just one, I’ll make it.
Ron - probably best to give up 'singing' if just one....

Also, if you are a PRRT&HS member, you can see the frame on Friday between 3-6pm. Saturday's open house is open to the public.

I feel the same way. Another goal of mine is to be able to ride on the Lackawanna Cutoff. They have been working on the line from Port Morris, NJ to Andover, NJ for some time now. There is chatter on some Facebook groups about Amtrak/NJ Transit's interest in reopening the line to Scanton PA.
