Well hello T.E.T. fans, I am running a little late today its now 4:30 in Texas so its 5:30 on the East Coast and 2:30 on the West so I guess this still can be defined as Tuesday.  What I have today is the car everyone wanted in 1950 but Lionel didn't make it!! Much to the disappointment of many of us who had the "Madison" cars then pulled by the re-issued 773 Hudson locomotive (I did I got it for Christmas that year!!) .  In case you don't remember, the Madison cars were all Pullmans as defined by Lionel and made between 1946-1950.  The cars were: 2625 Irvington , 2627 Madison, 2628 Manhattan.  However, there was NO 2626,  it was shown in the advance catalog but never made.  Until 2008...when what should be produced by Lionel LLC but the missing 2626...The Sager Place observation.  It is a perfect match to the 1950 cars and can now take its place in that famous train from the late 40's - 1950.  So today, here is the long missing Sager Place observation.

Here is the Tail End Tuesday view, including a "drum head" light but the train never had an official name so no drum.

Well hope you are having a great week.  Its been unseasonably warm in central Texas, highs 75-80 degrees, so summer is having a last fling!

Best wishes

Don

Very nice observation, Don. I'd like to get a set like it, but I'd need an appropriate loco, too. It would be fun to see the whole consist in action sometime. I think Rob Leese might be able to help you with a "fantasy" Lionel "L" drumhead that could be applied with clear double-sided tape so it could be removed and not affect the value of your fine observation. I'm surprised Lionel didn't do this in 2008 when they "reissued" this car.

Great photo's everyone!  @Dallas Joseph- what a great PE scene, so many elves and caribou, great work. @Sitka, @rjsmithindy, and @Apples55 great observation cars, love the streamliners but am nostalgic about the old heavyweights that Sika showed.  rjsmith - great winter scene loved the snow, Apples 55 who can not love the PRR and its great livery. @trumpettrain- #75 is really showing off her "rear" - great scene and setting Patrick.  @leapinlarry - loved the BNSF switcher and the Genset, great photos on your layout.  Loved the scenes.  OBTW we are planning (tenative) our ski trip for March and learned that Amtrak has brought back the "Ski Express" (shades of the "City of Denver) from Denver to the ski resorts...maybe a plan for a trip?

Today, I know I am late, its 1825 here in Texas so Tuesday is fading fast...However, I can't let a T.E.T. pass without trying to contribute, so here is (like me) an "old work horse" still trying to earn their keep.  This is the Lionel 152 heading up Outfit 261 containing both the No 800 box and the The 801 Caboose from 1924.  A long way from pristine, but still working hard.  The loco still can pull her weight although I don't run it too much as I don't want chance ruining the motor.

First the "Tail End Tuesday" view, showing the 801 Wabash caboose, car # 4890 on the tail end of this short caboose hop.  This caboose is a long way from new, but then again I hope I am in as good a shape at nearly 100 years old!!

Here is the 152 getting ready to pull the caboose out for work, got to pick up those cars for delivery to local industry by morning.

Here is a side view of the whole caboose hop moving out to work the industries of Small Town ( int the background).

Happy Holidays everyone.  Best Wishes

Here's my rear for this fine Tuesday!   The caboose of a way freight that took a siding to make way for the plow train.  The rear end brakeman and conductor watch the action and both have an eye on the black bear too!   Yikes!! IMG_0360-4

Sitka has a bear in his photo too .   He warned me not to" walk right into the scene  "because of the bear .

I'm thinking if I were your brakeman and conductor ,  I would be getting inside that caboose !

Great scene in this photo with the angle and depth of field Patrick .
