I have a Challenger in for repair that I can't get to chuff. Has a TAS SAW board. All functions work except chuff sound.Replaced Railsound, power, radio, and sensor boards with no luck. Is there a railsound/signal sound connection that may be bad, as there is no separate switch. It acts like it is in signal sound mode. And have tried TMCC reset code also.

Thank you, Chuck

This set up uses the magnet on the tender axle with the sensor board right above it. It is acting exactly like it is in Signal sound mode, but there is no railsound/signal sound selection switch. 1 loud chuff when power is first applied, then nothing.  All other functions work fine. Whistle and bell, and crew talk are all there. Just for the fun of it, I tried a diesel sound board and the engine motor sound would not rev up when I spun the axle.

After hours of frustration yesterday, I finally located the problem. On the TAS motherboard I found a tiny hairline crack on a almost invisible trace on the backside of the board. Gunrunner John helped with the post he had on the pin outs for the audio board that he posted here. Not being really familiar with TAS SAW boards, it took a long time to fine the problem that the Audio board was not receiving the chuff signal from the hall effect sensor board.  I was just about ready to scrap the whole system and replace it with a ERR system. It is in a brass 3rd Rail Challenger.
