I bought a NYC Dockside Switcher off an auction site and it was dead-on-arrival. I contacted the seller who insisted it was fine when he tested it, but after badgering him repeatedly to accept a return, he said "I guess send it back and I'll take a look at it." I was going to have to shell out $20 to return it when I realized I've been working at client literally 2 miles from the guys in Canfield OH.
So, I swung by at lunch a couple of weeks ago, dropped off the little DOA docksider, and they fixed it. Unfortunately, it's more than 3 years old but I'd rather pay their rates for a quality and reliable repair than take the chance on "I'll take a look at it" from a lying auction-site seller who could not have tested the switcher.....the drive-wheel gears were stripped, so I'm guessing "New in Original Box" was a slight exaggeration.
