I got my reefers (At least the ones that have come in.)! Thanks! They are fabulous!
I did notice that the reefers that were in the 2nd 2014 catalog were made in 2013.

Lucky you! They look real nice. Maybe the folks from Nassau will chime in and explain if Lionel will still honor their warranty . Just a thought.
God Bless,
"Pappy"
Is it true the ones with sound wont be out till February?

A reefer with "sound"? What sort of "sound" would an ice Reefer make, as the reefers shown in the above photo are all ice reefers?

Straight from the Lionel website product description... what else more do you need?
... Special motion detectors inside the reefer trigger realistic braking, scraping, and bumping sounds as the locomotive picks up speed and slows down.
As for the delivery date, it would appear the Charles Ro website indicates they expect them in-house early February. So I think you're correct, Jojo.

Well how about THAT! Does that car also come with the appropriate "Freight loss & damage claim" forms?
Well, I think the reefer with sounds will be fun as it'll add to the overall sound of the whole train. I also have those on order. It's part of my Legacy 'started set' that I'm building, all ordered from Nassau, which consists of the 990 command set, Big Boy #4018, all 3 of the reefer 3-packs of 2014, a caboose and aux tender. I decided to jump with both feet into the world of Legacy.
Nice to enjoy a little "reefer madness" before the slew of Big Boys takes over every topic on here once they ship! HA!
Now you just need the new Lionel Big Boy to go with them. Perfect match.
Thanks Sinclair!

Well, Charlie can't get it to me before he gets them, so wait I must. But until then I could pull them around with my RailKing Cab Forward if I wanted to.
Thanks Sinclair!
You're welcome.
That 3 pack from Vol 2 (29989) must have just came in as Charles Ro still shows them as a pre-order but expected 12/8
I wish i could join in the Holiday cheer, but the order I placed on 12/1/14 from Nassau Hobby Center has yet to arrive, and I received no notice of shipping from UPS, USPS, or FedEx that the package was shipped. I'm hopping the Holiday crush in shipping has slowed it's arrival, and that it wasn't stolen off my doorstep.

I received this 3 pack about 3 weeks ago
I placed a pre-order in May for an SD50. I received a call that my item was ready to ship. Called to pay the rest of the order on Monday, was on my doorstep Tuesday. Unfortunately, the item was defective and Nassua stated they would get a new one out once my item nits NY. They have become my go to hobby shop.

I would strongly suggest you give Chris or Charlie a call at the store. They'll do the right thing. While I'm not a big mail orderer, they are my first stop on the web if I'm looking for something.
SJC,
I did receive a notice the order was processed on 12/1/14, but no tracking no. or means of shipment. I'll wait one more day before I call the store.

Yeah, it sounds pretty cool, and I'm surprised someone hasn't done this a while ago. You could make a kit and put it in virtually any box car. Put one in every, say, third car or so and you'd really have something neat...
Geno,
Nassau Hobby will contact you when shipment is ready to be sent, sos that you know when to expect the arrival of the parcel.
You have a point though regarding, to put it mildly, idiot thieves!!!!!!

Sinclair,
Very cool looking reefers, Brian is right now the Lionel Big Boy to pull them would look real neat!

This has nothing to do with reefers, but has a lot to do with the title of this post. I also thank Nassau Hobbies for their service and sale. I got my P&WV hoppers for a good price and good service.....

Well I did get an e-mail this morning from Nassau Hobby's shipping dept- apparently my order was never shipped, despite my card being charged. Supposedly a software issue. While I'm happy I now know it wasn't stolen off my doorstep, I now have to wait another 5-7 days for my order- not so happy about that.
Geno
Sorry for the screwup Gene. For some reason the software skipped your order and never sent to shipping. We have fixed the problem and it will never happen (hopefully) again. Charlie...
I don't know that I would trust those Nassau guys. They have cost me thousands of dollars. If they hadn't sold me that Polar Express set a few years back at such an awesome price i would probably be totally into a more affordable hobby like collecting Ferraris! HA! Like others have said on here, he WILL make it right. They are great folks and huge supporters of this hobby and this forum. Merry Christmas!
