The Great Train Chase of 2018
Yesterday during the Trains, Trains,Trains event held at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive history in Kennesaw GA, David Bjorkman and the East Carolina Railroaders group had a re-enactment of The Great Train Chase of 1862 on the LCCA/ Lionel FasTrack Modular Railroad Layout! This museum is the home of "The General" steam locomotive. 
What a fun event it was!!!

Enjoyed your post and we visited the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive history in Kennesaw GA, last summer. Looks like you had a great event with lots of interest and fun for all.
I like the flat car with the canon and shield and will make one for Great train chase as I have two 4-4-0, one painted black and red.

I wish I knew about this event in advance. I would have liked to ask someone if the museum could specify the actual dimensions of the General as it exists today. I know that both MTH and Lionel models are oversized — in the case of MTH I have estimated it at 1:38 scale — but I couldn’t find any dimensional data on the General anywhere to confirm.
