At O Scale West -

3rd Rail posted some new projects.  The only one I remember (as the other ones involved lesser railroads) is the 1953 Super Chief.  I sure hope that Scott gets lots of support for it as it is not an easy project with three different (Budd, Pullman and ACF) cars in the mix.

This will be one heck of a Super Chief!

That was a heck of a set and it was very popular.  It still seems to hold it's value very well.

That said, a scale Santa Fe 51-53 Super Chief is something I've wanted for a long time.  The only thing near was a 2 rail version made a few years ago by Pecos River Brass.  To buy that version would cost thousands.

For me the 3rd Rail/GGD Super Chief with all cars, including the RPO if done properly (which I fully expect) will be extremely special, and something I can't pass up.

There has never been a 1951- 1953 3 rail scale version of the Super Chief before.  It is the classic version with the dome car.  Also for Santa Fe modelers, if this gets done, it would be much easier for other Santa Fe trains like the Chief, etc, to be done.

Any idea where the announcement was posted?  On the forum here?
