I am been pretty busy with OGR business during the week so the last few weekends I have been relaxing by installing the latest scene on the layout. Quite some time ago, I built and installed a Korber power station complex on the layout. Just behind it was an 8 foot tall display cabinet that blocked the view of the complex when one entered the train room. This always bothered me so over the last couple of weekends and during the evening hours, I have made a few changes! First, I moved the display case downstairs and it fit nicely in its new place. Of course I had to move a bookcase which was originally there first, but the bookcase was relocated at the bottom of the stairs to the train room. AND...in order to do that, I had to take down some shelving that displayed my radio collection in order to fit the bookcase into its spot. THEN...I had to find new places to display the radios that were on the shelves I took down....WHEW!!! Anyway, this gave me a spot next to my power station complex to develop a coaling complex. I then was able to incorporate and install my Lionel rotary coal dump into the coaling area. As you can see from the pictures, the coaling area is on a lower level in order to add interest to the scene and to avoid a ramp like approach to the coal dumper. I am obviously not finished and have much to do like completing the installation of the rock face to the right side of the scene and to add some greenery here and there. Not sure if I am going to keep the oil derrick in there...we shall see. I have included about 20 pictures. Hope you enjoy them and as always...thanks so much for taking the time to look and comment. By the way, if you right click on a picture and then click "open link in new window", you will get a full screen view.
