The Lionel plastic body 48' Three-bay, open-top hopper was first produced in 1992.

Since then the people working at Lionel have made many Chessie System diesel-electric locomotives and freight cars.

A common sight on the Chessie System and other roads were the Three-bay, open-top hoppers for coal loading.

Somehow they have avoided producing this hopper in the B&O, C&O, WM Chessie System scheme since 1992.

It is not an obscure or fantasy paint scheme.

How can Chessie System three-bay, open-top hoppers not be produced every year in new numbers to eventually make a long train of individually numbered hoppers.

Now when they produce them people will have to buy 12 at one time for long train, instead of spreading them out over several years.
