Nice pics. Any observations or comments concerning the (supposedly) new gear ratio? Is there any noticeable change in speed step response with Legacy?

Did you notice with your new pen central that the horn sounds different then the first release of the U33C?

assuming the 2nd issue U33's in the vol 2 catalog are not ready yet as I recieved a York shipment from RO and it was not included.

The gearing is lower than the first run of U33s so I am not sure how a lash up of the old and new will work.
The low end though is much improved now with about a 3 MPH crawl on the low end.
The horn sound is different but so is the cluster of horns on the loco.

Thanks for the reply, Carl. When the dust settles with this new version, I might make an inquiry with Canfield about the possiblity of fitting new wheel sets to the first issued U33's in an effort to increase the gear ratio.
