Nice coverage. I didn't see any views of Kohs nor Midwest Model Works. I assume that both were there?
Midwest in in the video but Kohs was a no show. I wish I could post a picture of what a few people wrote on his table 😂
Midwest Model Works shows up about the 2:35 mark on the video. They had several examples including some painted shells that don't show up in the video. I did not a reserve a model so I didn't ask what the delivery plan is.
Pretty sure Kohs was not at the meet.
Great memories of the show.
Thanks for the show.
Dick
Does anyone have the website of or a point of contact for Stanley Dye Models? If you do, kindly post it or send it to me off list. Thank you, John in Lansing, ILL
Thanks for sharing.
at 2:50 in the video there's a UP diesel maybe an SD45? that seems like it might be G scale?
For some reason it seems larger in the shot.
I see Midwest at 2:35 with the Bethgon brass samples and the other engines above.

Yes, that is a G scale model at 2:50 in the video. It is a brass model and belongs to a friend of mine. It is for sale if you are interested.

No idea why they had that but yes it was G scale. They went home with it ;-)
Dan,
The question remains (2:22), was enough donated to buy you a beer?

Yes, it reached the UK, Hilarious. One wonders about the naivety of his remaining customers. Reminds me of the emperors new coat.
Excellent video Dan, thanks for posting. I guess the Railgon Is Mr Yanceys?

Yes, sever dollars and change was enough for 1/2 glass at hotel bar prices

Is it a Samhongsa model?
It isn't a great time for me right now. I don't have the cash. Maybe by summer? So I won't ask the price.
It looks very interesting to me. I haven't seen any higher end G scale in person. Only on the internet and still very limited pictures. They seem like unicorns to me.
I did make it to the show. Met my friend from Michigan there, after spending Friday afternoon at the big operating session up at Ted Schnepfs' Fox Valley O Scalers. A good time indeed! Overall, attendance was a bit low, but did pick up basically what I wanted to get, plus a few surprises. Most of the big sellers were there, minus a few. Too bad that Norm Pullen did not make it with his mass of trains for sale.
Sunday was a bit sad, knowing that this show was passing into history. I did get the chance to talk to Judy Hill, who gave me a memorial card from Mikes' funeral. I was surprised to learn his name was Malcolm, as I've always known him as just Mike! I tried to get as many pictures of the "old timers" whom I've become accustomed to see at this show, knowing darned well that even if the show gets picked up (I'm sure it will), some might not be able to still make it......
It was a good run, and we all need to be thankful that it had the long run it had! Thanks to the Mike Hill family for the great shows over these many years!
