Hi,
Many of you may remember a while back I tried to sell my TW Design Grand Central Terminal on the buy sell board.
The reason was to purchase the then newly announced Chicago Union Station. After having no luck selling it here at a greatly reduced price I asked Dorcie the Train Dame for some help or even a suggestion to solve my problem. Well after receiving about a dozen e blasts about deals on the Union Station and not one reply to any of my four e mails to her this is what I sent today...

Update March 28th, 2012

After exchanging a few e mails and having a very pleasant phone conversation I'm happy to say I have accepted Dorcies gracious offer to exchange my GCT for the new Union Station.
I have to say I've found the "Train Dame" to be as pleasant as can be and it was a joy to finaly talk with her and resolve this issue once and for all with her help. All that's left is to work out the details of sending back the GCT and her sending out the CUS.

Thank you Dorcie! You have gone above and beyond to make me a happy customer and prove that service is alive and well at

TW Design!!

Seems like you are calling out a wholesaler for not buying something from you. That is poor form. They are under no obligation to take something back. Of course they are ignoring you.  Put yourselves in their (corporate) shoes. That's not the way business works.  Also, consider that they probably pay less than half the retail price for these items.

They advertise.

You buy it.

You don't want it.

You can't sell it.

I don't think they should bear the brunt of your frustration over buyer's remorse.

(Have you tried selling it on Ebay?)

There are THREE of the GCTs on eBay right now with 'buy it now' prices of $1740 - $2150. Of course, the highest one DOES include free shipping....

Perhaps if you list yours with an opening bid of $1000 - $ 1200 you should easily sell it this week.

Personally, if I was your LHS I would jump on the offer you gave him. Especially if he is sitting on several of the (cheaper) Union Pacific pieces, unable to move them. Which station will be more valuable in a couple of years do you think?

This is the most hilarious post EVER...ANYWHERE!!!  Get a grip man...GET A GRIP!!!  Train Dame is probably a guy named HARRY!!!  It just is not worth that kind of money...I agree with BIG0!!!  For me, $1500 is a nice set of trains!!!  Beware of people doing the HARD SELL...people have been specializing in parting other people from their money since the beginning of time.  Buyers' Remorse can stress you out, and ruin the Hobby for you.

I haven't met her in person, but the pictures I have seen leave little doubt.

Well I think the get a grip comments are poor form.He may be ranting but your comments show you need to grow up.
Once you buy a high end item you better be sure it's really what you want.

I will say this it's like some of the sub contractors that work for me. They give me some lame excuse that although I've heard nothing out of them in two weeks it's because they were busy? BS how hard is it to call a phone number and say I'm tied up?
My answer is yea you WERE busy and now your busy looking for a job see ya.

train dame is no different .How long does it take to say I'm not interested.
typical of some businesses . everything is fine until it's not then silence.
Thanks for the tip dude . I won't buy anything from her. I won't buy anything from someone who can't answer a simple e mail even if it's just to say no.
