Have a beer.  It never fails.  As soon as I have a train running, I get the urge to sip on a cold one.  They go together like bread and butter.  Very relaxing.  One of my favorite scenarios is when my wife works 9-5 on an occasional Saturday at the library and I get a case of Coors Light and I can run trains all day as loud as I want and as long as I want with no cell phones, distractions, (fill in the blanks----), etc.  Just kick back and run trains- off and on for 8 hours.  Sweet!  I usually have a movie to watch or sports on the tube for a break in the action.  Of course, always responsible here.  Cheers.

Yes William,

The same goes, only its Rum & Coke for me!

Like you say shut off the phones, I even shut off the doorbell!

Being on 24hr call well just don’t like phones my layout is in a basement with no windows its one of the few times I can forget about my cares if even for a little time.

Having said that I find when I am working on the layout, I have no time to drink, it’s a nice balance for me.

Me, too.

Though I drank enough booze as a very young man to last an entire lifetime, an ice cold bottle of Bud continues to be a treat for me. Now that I have been diagnosed with a bit of a enlarged heart, drinking is discouraged.

So, its a super treat for me when I get to run my little coal yard switching layout, and twist off that bottle cap.

Yes, a beer is good friend when running trains. But I do prefer a beer with a taste

A Modus Hoperandi from Ska Brewing co Durango CO (A railroad town) is a great brew.

Beware of the Ska music on their homepage tough.

Otherwise a Sierra Nevada Torpedo is always nice. Or some of the beers that I brew myself, but they are not available in the US

Send some Swedish beer to Chicago and I'll put down my Coors light for an evening.  But, I'll never put down my Cab1.  I just looked up how to say cheers in 50 languages and learned enough that I will raise a glass and say SKAL (with an umlaut and pronounced skawl) to you.  Have a great weekend all you O Gauge nuts.  SKAL!

Skål it is! What ever you drink.
