Most of us have life time quantities of various lubricants. Last week I replaced a shower mixer and bought this silicone grease as a part of the project. I only have 30 more years to use it up.
It is less viscous than red and tacky but appears to have good characteristics for lubrication. I used it on the guides for the bin on a 497 coal elevator and it smoothed things out quickly. Has anyone tried this stuff or have thoughts on where it might be a good / bad application? For example, might a silicone grease be good for plastic gears? (I still plan to use red and tacky on all serious gears like loco gearing. )
