Hi all and happy holidays to you! I have two Lionel Tinplate Steamers with MTH PS3 equipped systems that I'm having issues with. The model number is 11-5510-1E for both. These came to me brand new as a part of a "ready to run set". I switched to all new tinplate from a full Legacy Lionel system a couple years back as I just love the tinplate shine! I have a TIU with DCS handheld remote and all power supplied to the track from a Lionel 180 watt brick set at 12 volts to the track (just a quick background of what I'm working with.) to be clear both steamers are the same model number and both have the same following issue that came about at different times.
I went to run trains yesterday after having a perfect run the night prior. Yesterday when I powered up the layout and remote I get the usual "click" in tender and noises it should be making at startup. The issue is I have zero life from the steamer itself. It's completely dead. The draw bar connection to the tender on these are super finicky so I messed with it (while powered down) and still nothing. No headlight illuminated either. I deleted the engine from remote then added it back to the system, nothing but tender sounds again. Everything is clean, track wheels etc. I'm in Phoenix, AZ and I'll hopefully find someone who can diagnose and fix BUT is there anything else I should try? I'm not a DCS pro by any means so I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing OR if this may be a common issue as now both trains share the same issue.
thanks for any and all feedback! -Eric
