Anybody here snag this baby?
The Marx one might be a little small. Have you seen the Lionel one? I saw it at Nicholas Smith yesterday for what seemed like a good price. What I liked was that it was not very deep, so it would fit nicely without taking up too much room.

this is resin? I'd have t see it in person- to me its too much like the Dept 56 stuff, for the Std. Gauge layout I'd prefer to go template or litho.
Carey, the Marx Grand Central is a great piece. Lithography is gorgeous, however they have a pretty low profile. I have a few of the Marx structures including the Grand Central, but tend to keep them localized in one area of my layout that runs mostly smaller O gauge.

Papa, thanks for your input here. I see all these dynamite vintage tin litho pieces, and somehow (in my head) think they can work in a Std huge layout- maybe I'm just wishing they were larger!
Its really hard for me to visualize the sizing of objects from just seeing pics on evilBay. There are no trains shows, and especially very little Std. Gauge at all where I live- to see tinplate in person. Watching members' video here and see pics of members' layouts have been extremely useful.
I bought a huge tinplate Marx parking garage an antique shop for $45. I was surprised that it was still there because it was in such nice condition
carey . use whatever you want, trains are make believe ,, yes you have people who like things, exact, , (scale),,, but model trains are a fantasy, , ,,, put in what you think looks cool, don't worry about others, ,, follow the yellow(brick)(ties) train tracks!, ,,
