The drawbar on my new TMCC SP Cab Forward (6-38071) does not line up vertically with the tender -- and thus the IR transmitter/receiver do not line up.  This is a brand new engine, and it's not obvious to me which end, if either, might be bent.  The loco has a spring pressing the drawbar up, so even if I were to bend the end down, the spring would press it right back up against the chassis.  And the part from the tender seems to go straight out and certainly doesn't look bent.  I'm attaching a few photos in hopes that someone will recognize where the problem is, and how I might fix it.  If I need to bend one side or the other, then *where* do I bend it?  The drawbar from the loco looks just slightly tweaked in one of the photos, but I think that's just the angle of the picture.  Thanks so much for looking!

Absolutely right, Alex.  I held my finger at the area where the spring is (i.e. well away from the end of the drawbar) and gently bent the cab's drawbar down - very easy and it solved the problem.

I just didn't want to go bending things not really knowing what I was doing ;-)  I also straightened out a few other odds and ends that were slightly bent from the shipping box.  Then I upgraded the smoke unit with the new batting and a bigger air hole and the thing really blows a lot of steam now.  Good to go!

Thanks very much for your help!

From the photos you took it looks like the issue is with the IR on the engine.

To fix it you're going to have to put your thumb under the IR and press it against

the bottom of the engine. Then with your other hand use your thumb and index finger

and bend the IR a bit downward. Hope this helps
