TMCC For Superstreets Vehicles Wiring Question

Here is another picture - I removed the wires on the harness I would not be using.

From Left to Right:

Black with Red Stripe - 3rd Rail

Blue/Yellow (motors)?

Black - Common

Red - Program Switch (other end on Common)

So what are the diodes for?  Is it so the car can only go forward?  Should I separate them and put them on each pole of the motor?  If not, what second wire goes to the motor?

The RCDR comes in several variants, which one did you buy?  Some are programed for motor drive using small TO-92 triacs and are good for maybe 300-400 milliamps maximum motor current.  Others are programmed for electrocouplers and won't power a motor.  I also have several "mystery" ones that I can't really figure what their function is.

I got the board used in the "Santa Fe Command Control Pick-up Truck - 6-39532" (link).

In the parts, it has only one board that is the "RCDR / Radio Receiver / Inspection Vehicle" 691-RCDR-109, so I hope this is the motor board.

I was hoping someone else might have more concrete answers but this is what I remember because I have used this board as an example in a K-line Plymouth to make it TMCC. Again, it's been a while but I'm sure this was key in that install.

Because the board uses TRIACs, the outputs potentially are AC, so hence the diodes- one for each direction.

99% sure this is what was used.

Correct, the board puts out a chopped wave in respect to ground on either the OP1 or OP2 pin, depending on TMCC direction.  The diodes are steering diodes to allow bi-directional running.  You also program it for an engine, then AUX1/8 for directional LED lighting.

Thanks - I was wondering why the Diodes were there.  I will just tie to them and put the other pole to Common.
