Hello,

I have the following:

6-12911 Command Base

6-12868 CAB-1 Remote Controller

I do not have the Lionel 6-12866 135 Watt PH-1 Powerhouse

In place of the Powerhouse, can I use my American Flyer Model 12B with a capacity of 250 watts?

I attached some information about the 12B transformer.

Thanks for your time, Ron.

ATLAYANK,   As far as I know, and I have done so with Lionel PW ZW 275W transformers, yes.........

All you have to be concerned with is, after connecting your transformer to the track as ususal, connect the Command Base to the Common (ground) side of your transformer, and you will be able to run TMCC type engines on your trackage.  refer to the instruction manuals you may have with the Command Base and various sources of power supply.

Hope this helps.....

You can but I would be concerned about the circuit protection. I suspect the American Flyer transformer will not trip quick enough during a derailment leaving your engines at risk. Might want to add some external circuit protection that will trip faster.

10 amp fuses worked for me. They reacted very quickly
