I just installed my first TPC400 on one of my two lines.  Before having it I used one Cab1 remote to control both mainlines simultaneously by keying in the engine number that I wanted to control.  I find that with the TPC400, when it is set in conventional mode, requires a dedicated Cab1, which I have.

So my question is: When the TPC400 is set to conventional mode and my other mainline is command mode that two Cab1s are required if I want to control a train on each simultaneously?

Thank you!

I've set the TPC to conventional, started a MTH locomotive conventional and got it running consistantly.  Then I brought a command engine on the same track behind the one running conventional.  Noting that speed control of the conventional effects the command locomotive, I would adjust the command locomotive accordingly.  A lot of button pushing on a Cab1.   There is a low voltage point where the command locomotive will drop out.

You can just reprogram the TPC as an engine and then you will be able to toggle back and fourth.
