It has been a long time since one of my locomotives had a traction tire come off so I guess I was due since all four came off my SP Cab Forward this weekend. I didn't want to start taking off the running gear so the first one took about 45 minutes to reinstall. Took a quick break and then came up with the idea of using tooth picks to pull the traction tire to the edge of the wheel and then push the tooth pick down. The only way for the traction tire could come off the wheel now would be to slip over the tooth pick. Went around the wheel using about 5 toothpicks. The I took a small screw driver and held the traction tire in place as I withdrew the toothpick. Next three wheels took about 10 minutes each.

I hope I described the process clear enough to understand.
