Finally unpacked 3rd Rail A-B-A E7 set. I have been able to
set engine IDs and info. I am having trouble creating a
'train' with two A units. I am using a 990 legacy base
in cab-1 mode. I am able to add both engines the build
screen, press 'set' and nothing happens. Scroll out to
main screen, press 'TR' and #, go through start-up or
throttle increase and have no response from either engine.
What am I missing? Thanks Mike

Do both units have the same engine ID? Also, are they being setup as TMCC or Legacy units?

Hi John, I have each unit set up with its own ID.
I am using a Legacy 990 using Cab-1. Since these
3rd rail units, programmed them for TMCC control.
Was there any further advice or resolution on this one?
I’m having a very similar issue with two 3rdRail E8s.
using legacy Cab-2 and have tried combining them both in TMCC mode and CAB-1. No joy after setting up “TR”ain.
I was able to fix this problem by assigning a single digit to the "train". It did not accepted
a two digit ID number. I have no expertise this area, I hope other forum members that do
will help you solve the issue . Best of luck. BTW beautiful set of locomotives.
I did have the same problem with my E8s. I called third rail and they told me just what you did Mike. I assigned the train, a number 1-9. Problem solved.
