Troubles with Lion-Chief?

I stopeed by one of my Train Hobby stores and the owner happened to be in that day. In the course of conversing about "stuff"

I brought up the new Lion-Chief. He ssid he had great success with the sets because he felt the price was reasonable and he couldn't keep them in stock.

BUT

He started getting Lion Chief engines back that just don't work!!!

Lionel told him to send them back when they came in. One of the guys in the shop was saying Lionel IS having issues with them.

Anyone out there can shed some light on what is happening??

I have several on back order and no one knows when Lionel will take delivery
