Gentlemen,
I broke the coupler on the left. It is a k-line truck, but no luck finding it's exact replacement on the web. I ordered some Lionel 14251 replacements because I have at least these two cars to repair. This is for the really nice New Haven car. The other is a SF Famous American Railroads tank car. Cheap plastic frame and trucks, but looks good in my SF train consist.
I need some advice for attaching the 14251 trucks. I did two replacements a few years ago. Is there a better way than just a small screw and nut with a washer on the inside? Is there a Lionel part that fits with those trucks? I'll change both ends of the SF tank car, but, should I change out the good truck on the other end of the NH?
As always, your advise will be the best to be found.
