Dry sand paper on a block or your Dremel Tool, with a Sanding Band, 60 grit
part# 408 - Do it very slow. on the top part of the tubular track.

Are you running some Marx or pre-war trains with the large gear on the drive wheel? That bounces when it hits the plastic guide rails of the cross.
If it is the rail ends, then trainroom has it. It's just that when you start to get smoothness you have taken off enough to begin to expose the folded\compressed rail end.
So, you are bumping over the points then?

Yes, this evening I am going to do a little smoothing out of the points. Hopefully that will help.
