C3BC01FE-BF27-4F2A-8BC9-36DAA140A5B96B2CA29C-860E-4D15-9259-DAE87FB45259FB7E3751-DC5A-46A8-B81D-669876ADBDC6 this is maybe something that has to be junked?I have what looks like a low end lionel engine built with a motor truck that has the side frames mounted with rivets not screws. anyone know of a way to re attach as the rivets will have to be ground down to gain access to the traction tires to replace

The ties can be changed without moving the side frames. I’ve rebuild these mothers changing the plastic worm gear and drive gears. The pinion studs were a bit tricky. It is possible to drill through the side frames where they are swedged to the upper plate and put screws in. But, the hole must be exactly centered.
