At York this Saturday, I purchased a Lionel Legacy SD40-2 in CSX markings. I thought it was the version that Lionel recently put in their 2012 Vol.1 and 2 catalogs. However, I was a little curious that it wasn't. It's item number is #28273. I never saw it on Lionel's website. Nice as it is, I was looking forward to one of the cataloged versions. I'm wondering if this a rare uncataloged version or something....

Congratulations on your new engine. I too couldn't find it in the main product search, but as the parts listing came up with no trouble I guess that it was probably in a catalogue somewhere. Here's the parts listing if you want to compare parts with other SD40-2 models. http://www.lionel.com/Customer...3b9d2e633a463e2a4067
Edit:
Breaking news! I've found it. This locomotive has come from a 2008 Husky Stack set. Here's the link. http://www.lionel.com/Products...neID=&CatalogId=

I think that it might have been the engine in the Husky Stack boxed set now that I think of it. I'm kinda dissapointed though that it wasn't the ones with the new high-pitched horn, ditch lights and updated Crew-Talk.

OOPS! I typed too slowly yet again. While I was editing my original post to add the set details, you had arrived at the same conclusion.
I have this engine listed in my Legacy Engines guide, which can be found here:

Which reminds me, I'll have to update it for the 2012 Vol 2 releases.
