The A.T.& S.F has received our fist ever 'new' locomotive in many a year. By new I mean current production, from a dealer, and with a factory warranty. We've acquired some 'new' (to us) engines before that were indeed 'new in the box', but were several to many years old. Our recently acquired K4 was obtained 'previously owned' from a forum member.

We were able to trade a locomotive for this Legacy Mike from a major hobby supplier last week. It arrived today.

We've had two different K-Line Mikados and really liked the appearance but found the smoke and electronics lacking. This one is no disappointment - What a beauty!

Q- Is the engineer's voice the same in all the recent Lionel steamers?  It sounds like the same fella with a strong NY accent in both our K4 and this Mike. From what I've heard on the Hudson videos, he's driving that one too!

The builder's plate is conspicuous by its absence. What is the latest on that situation?

This fella certainly isn't from Brooklyn, he should have a Midwestern accent!

Was just going to write to you Alex - I like her a lot. We only have TMCC so I find I have very little control over the whistle as it has a mind of its own. Running the K4 along with it is nice as the two whistles are similar but slightly different in pitch.

The cab voices sound identical however...

Hey Alex what module are you speaking of?

you a good module.

Thanks, Alex

Hi Southern4501, the Mikado's came with blank orange legacy modules, it's the

module for loading the info into the CAB-2.

Alex

I bought the Southern Mikado 4501. It also came with a blank orange engine module

And missing builders plate. Lionel sent me a new module that isn't blank. And round

Baldwin builder plates. My question is. The area on the side of the boiler where the builder plates are suppose to go is rectangle not round like the builder plate.

What have other Mikado owner experienced?

Ok, thank you, thats relieving to know that you don't have to pay. But honestly, I don't understand why anyone would want to go through the trouble of getting Lionel to send you a legacy memory module, when you can easily manually enter all of the legacy mikados info without one.
