Alex,
The ship looks great. The life boat and life rings add a nice touch.

Alex GREAT job.

Nice job Alex.
Alex great job, too bad it will not be at your place in August for your open house.
Interesting side bar: I rode across Lake Michigan on the S.S. Badger in August 1971. This might be of interset to our car fans; I was a Techie with a group that was doing the New Car Announcement Shows for American Motors and introducing the Buyer Protection Plan to the Dealers. We would do a Baquet show one night [for the Dealers] then the Buyer protection Plan/New Car Show the next day. The Tech Crew I was in only did the Baquet then we were off to the next show sight. To save time to get to the next show sight we took the Ferry. As I remember we arrived at the dock shortly before sail time and our Step Van was put on the Ferry and we went to one of the upper decks for the night. There was one opening where we could look down in the hull of the ship and see the RR Cars. We didn't have any fancy rooms to shay in all I can remember is a big glass inclosed room with like park benches were we stayed, and slept on the beches or the floor/deck. It took all night to go across the lake.

Wow. That looks cool.
Here's the Lynden & Alaska Railroad operation.
Thanks, Adriatic, Nicole, David, Joe, Alan, Brent, John, Redball, and RK
for the input and very nice comment's. Jim will be here in 5 days to pick it up,
and once he installs it I'm sure he'll post a lot of photo's
Thanks to all of you who have followed this post for all these months,
Alex
Awesome as always Alex! I want to see it in person! You around on Friday?
Cesar
Oh there will be a ton of photos. I will be home alone the following week after I pick up the ferry and will have a lot of train and layout time before and after work each day. This time will be used to add the expansion onto the layout for the car ferry. I also took the following friday off to do nothing but the front brakes on my car and the layout.
I am making one big design change. It will not be on a cart to sail away. If I make it permanent and up against the wall I can have hidden staging under it. This will solve several issues. One I will have hidden staging for my trains to travel to "other" towns off the layout. Two, the hidden staging will still be in the "layout" area of the basement. This will keep the wife happy.
The third reason is if I move t away from the layout little hands will have easier access too it. I am afraid they will damage it.
Awesome as always Alex! I want to see it in person! You around on Friday?

Hi Cesar,
I will be around all day, I'll email you my address
Alex
Hi Alex,
I've been following your work all along and as everyone has said... it is truly your BEST creation to date. I'm saddened that it won't be available for viewing in person next month.
After my 3rd Rail NYC electric arrives, my next acquisition will be a SP GS-4 Daylight and cars which I believe ran within California. I was thinking about having it arrive in a diorama depicting "warf-side" and then I too will need a boat, the QE II comes to mind....
GREAT WORK Alex !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best,
Dave

Thanks Alex, I really appreciate that on a last minute notice
Cesar
Alex,
That is simply outstanding!
If I knew how to use PhotoShop, I would take the Ferry and put it in real water. I bet no one would suspect that it wasn't the real thing.
Excellent work.
Alex
