Two years ago, I converted this MTH PS3 engine to BlueRail battery power. I left the PS3 board installed for sounds. I recently removed the PS3 board and replaced with a Soundtraxx Tsunami TSU 4400.
I was able to fit everything into the A unit and I no longer need a trailing battery car.
Sounds so much better, and you have the ditch lights working! I've been doing some research and have ordered a Digitrax 8 Amp DCC system. Plan is to also go with Soundtraxx decorders. The next layout I build will be a 3 rail DCC, should be interesting! I have less than 20 loco's, will be so nice to have just one control system! I will initially wire it up so I can run DC or AC power as needed until I have all my loco's converted. I have a lionel scout set that was given to me by my uncle and when I researched it found out it was released the year I was born. May have to keep a small AC loop just for that one!
