On power up, the display appears upside down. Pushing "buttons" makes no difference. I have to power down and then back up, and then the display is correct.
One of my Legacy remotes would display backwards upon turning it on. Did not happen often but it did rarely. I informed the Jon Z about that and I believe he knew what it was but it was not any huge issue to be concerned.
Happened to me from the time I bought my Legacy components. I still haven't taken the thing in for repair--supreme procrastination, I know--and now just run everything with DCS. I REALLY need to take a trip down the road to the Lionel Service Center one of those days.
When I described what was happening to the Lionel tech who handles Legacy repairs (while visiting their open house in August), he knew exactly what the problem was/is and assured me he could fix it.
Same thing happened to mine. Sent it in and and they swapped mine out for a new one. Took less then a week round trip. They covered the repairs even though I am way out of warranty.
Thank you for your insight. As long as it does not worsen, I will live with it. This is my second Cab2, the other went back to Lionel and was replaced with a serviced unit. This one I have had for just a few months. Also, my original cab2 went back for repairs several years ago. At least all service was covered at no cost, even though the warranty has expired.
