I currently have a yard for my engines on my layout where I can turn on/off each track with a switch for each. I would like to be able to turn turn on/off each track with my legacy controller. I am currently using a mth Z1000 transformer for track power. Does anybody know what I would need to do to make this work? Would I need a different transformer or some sort of module? I appreciate any help.

Lionel has the Block Power Controller - BPC2 for doing what you are wanting to do. The link has more info and also a link to the manual. I am not familiar with these, I use toggle switches here on my layout. However, there are others here that use these devices and may be able to provide more assistance.

You need a BPC-2 and an LCS power supply and cable. Each BPC-2 can control up to 8 tracks. If you need more then one then you also need an LCS PDI cable to daisy chain them together.
A TPC 300/400 would also work for that block. Pricy solution if you can find them.
Thanks all for the help.
