I have the PRR Sharknose AA set (2133270) as well as the powered B unit (2133278). I love them, but my consists aren't really long enough to require 3 powered locomotives, and the length using the three is longer than I'd like for my layout. The second A unit has no sound, but I'm wondering if I purchased the Superbass non powered B unit that goes with that set if I could effectively use it in a consist with the second A unit, which would allow me to run 2 (shorter) trains. I realize that the couplers on the B units in that set aren't electrocouplers, but I have Visionline box cars which I'd add to both consists as the first car. Since those do have electrocouplers on the one end, they would solve that issue. My concern though is that the Superbass unit would need to provide locomotive sounds, whistle / bell and crew dialog. and I'm not sure that it would. I don't want to purchase it if it wouldn't allow me to do what I want, because then I'd end up with an even longer consist. I realize that I could "buy it and try it" but it's not my style to return my purchases, which is why I thought I'd ask for opinions here. Has anyone done this with the "no sound loco" from an AA Legacy set? Thanks for your thoughts!
